Group Family Camp

We held a highly successful Family Camp at Walton Firs over the weekend 23-25 May.  The GSL has been passed quite a few photographs (many thanks!) but, so far, no reports.  How about it? If you were there, young and old(er) alike, why not send me your comments and I'll make sure they get published here....

Troop Summer Camp 2008: we are proposing a trip to Kandersteg in Switzerland, from 23 August to 30 August.  Letters were handed out to Scouts at the Troop meeting on 12 October.  If you weren't there, please email Dave and I'll send you the letter.

Help wanted...still: Beavers We now have a parent with the Beaver section who has agreed to become an Assistant  Beaver Leader, thus bolstering the team there to 3.  Any help, however, is greatly appreciated. Cubs We also have a parent in the Cub Pack who has gone into uniform as a Pack Assistant (and taken on running the Group Newsletter!) and this, too, is greatly appreciated.  However, we still need someone prepared to become an Assistant Cub Leader: apart from easing the pressure on Tim, we need to remember that meetings cannot run without a warranted Leader present.  Pack Assistant is non-warranted and, unfortunately, Tim can't be there every week. Scouts We also need to find an Assistant Scout Leader.  Peter is doing a great job currently as ASL and we have agreed that he should move on and take the Scout Leader warrant. Thus, we are now looking for an ASL to help Peter. If you can help out in any of these ways, please drop us an email.
