Troop Information

Meetings / Activities

The Troop meets on a Friday night between the hours of 1930h (7.30 p.m.) and 2130h (9.30 p.m.).  Most nights take place at the Headquarters but we do occasionally go out for an evening - especially in the summer months - and for the odd weekend.

The Troop enjoys a range of indoor and outdoor activities, predominantly Scout Program activities, and occasional social event.

The highlight of, and focus for, the year is the annual Troop Summer Camp, which usually takes place over the first week-and-a-half of the Kingston-Upon-Thames School Summer Holiday.  To see where the Troop has gone for its last 19 Summer Camps, click here.

Fancy learning online?  Why not try some of the other sites on the Internet that offer information on a wide variety of subjects.  (Note: all links are included on the Links page.)

Knotting

"Every Scout ought to be able to tie a knot. To tie a knot seems a simple thing, and yet there are right and wrong ways of doing it, and Scouts ought to know the right way.  Very often it happens that lives depend on a knot being properly tied."  Robert Baden-Powell .

Want to know how to tie the most common knots?  Why not try the 42nd Brighton (Saltdean) page on Knotting that uses animated pictures to show how the most common knots used in Scouting are tied.  And for more animated knots, why not try here.

Weather

Or how about the weather: always wanted to know a little bit more about it than what it's going to do over the next few hours or days?  Then why not take a look at the Met Office official website that again has interactive educational pages.  A wealth of information.
